Three architects have put themselves forward to run in the 2009/10 RIBA presidency race.
Andrew Hanson, Paul Davis and Ruth Reed have come out as frontrunners to succeed Sunand Prasad in 2009.
Each have already held prominent positions. Reed is a former president of the Royal Society of Welsh Architects, Hanson is currently chairman of RIBA London, and Davis is a past president of the Association of Chartered Architects.
Reed already has a website promoting her candidacy, with statements of support from the likes of Aaron Evans and Lib Dem MP Lembit Opik, the politician who shot to fame following his love affair with a member of pop duo The Cheeky Girls.
All final nominations have to be in by May 14.
