This year's Tent London event – part of London Design Festival – is seeking as-yet 'unrecognised architects' to enter its 2008 'fast-architecture competition'.
The Workspace Group Urbantine Project is calling for the design of a 6 x 5 x 4m structure that can be built in 48 hours and disassembled in 24. Innovative material and creative assembly concepts, such as modularity and pre-assembly, will be valued.Last year's winner, Alex Haw's 'Work/Space/Ply/Time' (design pictured), was erected without the use of rivets or glue – the basis of the design being a series of interlocking panels.
The winning architect will receive a £10,000 budget to build their design and exhibit it at Tent London at the Truman Brewery on Brick Lane during the London Design Festival.
