Ian Ritchie Architects has been officially ditched from the Potters Fields site on London's South Bank.
The news follows last month's revelation in the AJ that Ritchie's original scheme, which featured eight cylindrical towers, was facing the chop following the inking of a new deal between Southwark Council and Berkeley Homes. Now, the council and developer have confirmed that they are to appoint a new architect by the end of the summer, with designs to be tabled in the autumn.
Annie Shepperd, chief executive of Southwark Council, and Tony Pidgley, managing director of the Berkeley Group, will head up a steering group to oversee the appointment.
At the time of writing Ian Ritchie Architects was unavailable for comment.
