Outer space comes to EC2

The man who describes himself as Britain's first space architect will be giving this year's Milo lecture, organised by the Worshipful Company of Chartered Architects.

David Nixon, who was one of the original founders of Future Systems with Jan Kaplicky, is now based in Los Angeles and Ireland, and works on projects for organisations including NASA and the European Space Agency.

He will speak on 15 April at Draper's Hall about his work, and his talk will be followed by a dinner, at which there will be a further two speakers. They are Doctor Paul Scully-Power, an oceanographer and astronaut based in Australia, and Will Whitehorn, the president of Virgin Galactic, which is building a commercial space station in the US designed by Foster and Partners.
