Mole Architects wins Small Projects Awards

Mole Architects took top prize last night at the AJ's Small Projects Awards, sponsored by Ramboll Whitbybird, for a £7,000 Japanese tea house in Prickwillow, Cambridgeshire.
Meredith Bowles, principal of the practice, collected a cheque for £1,500 at the opening party last night. The judges praised the project as a celebration of the ordinary.

Second prize went to Arcade Architects for The Causey in Edinburgh, a £16,000 project to create a temporary public space.

The judges praised the project for thinking about what public space could be, and suggested it could well have been permanent. Second prize was £750.

| A commendation went to students from Sheffield School of Architecture for their project built from recycled materials called Space of Waste. |
