Architectural behemoth Gensler is not known for doing anything smaller than 'massive'. This Wonka-like wonderland – part maternity shop/part toy shop/part playground – in Kuwait is no exception.

Called Baroue – meaning 'to play' – the 6,900m2 shop in Kuwait City is aimed at children aged from 0-14.

At the heart of the scheme is a giant Sea Serpent – the length of 'four London buses' (presumably not bendy) which houses a jungle gym, a sandpit, and a stringless magical harp.

And ma and pa can rest easy about the fate of their little 'uns as they sip their lattes in the store's café. According to the practice 'parents can relax in the adjacent café or continue to shop – safe in the knowledge that their child can be located from anywhere in the store via the Radio Frequency Identification System (RFID) and associated viewing console units'.
