And, now ladies and gentleman, I'll make a behemoth Brutalist 1960s housing estate appear out of nowhere!

The 'one night only' magic trick to light up the soon-to-be-renovated Park Hill flats in Sheffield with floodlights was the brainchild of artist Annika Eriksson.

Dubbed Maximum Happiness, the recent display helped launched the Art Sheffield 08 programme – the city-wide contemporary art event which runs until the end of March 2008.

According to Eriksson: '[Park Hill towers] over the city like a majestic castle, the estate is a landmark building, yet what it stands for is ambiguous….it still testifies to the unparalled social vision of the 1960s that futurist architecture should be accessible to everyone. [But] Is this utopia exhausted?'

A very good question Eriksson…. but I prefer it when you just do your David Copperfield-esque magic….
