Aukett Fitzroy Robinson Architects (AFR) has replaced Duggan Morris Architects on a scheme in the major regeneration of Chelsea Harbour.
AFR was brought in as executive architect on the Design Centre scheme, despite the fact that its planning was secured by relative minnow, London-based Duggan Morris.
Duggan Morris practice partner Joe Morris said: 'We are pleased to have been given the opportunity to design such a high-profile scheme, and obtain planning permission without a single objection.
'While we are disappointed that we are not taking the project forward, we hope that this aspect of the scheme will be delivered with passion,' he added.
It is now believed that the Duggan Morris' designs will be 'tweaked' and the practice will play no further part in the project.
Aukett Fitzroy Robinson was unavailable for comment.
