Architects named for Kent Building Schools for the Future programme

A host of architects make up a consortium named as preferred bidder for the first phase of Kent County Council's £1.8 billion Buildings Schools for the Future (BSF) programme.

Hazle McCormack Young, Lee Evans Partnership, Clague, CTM, Ryder, and Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios are part of the winning Land Securities Trillium and Northgate Information Solutions consortium, which also includes Kent-based contractors.

The first £600 million phase of the council's BSF programme – scheduled for completion by 2014 – involves the refurbishment or rebuilding of secondary schools across the Gravesham, Swale and Thanet districts of Kent.

Kent County Council said it would establish two more Local Education Partnerships to transform secondary education in Kent's remaining districts.
