The London Development Agency (LDA) has selected a consortium including KCAP, EDAW and Allies and Morrison to design the Olympic legacy masterplan.
Although the LDA was not expected to announce the winner until Tuesday next week, the AJ can reveal the 17-strong team that will create the entire physical framework for the legacy of the East London site.
The team also includes Caruso St John, Maccreanor Lavington, Vogt Landscape, McDowell + Benedetti, Haworth Tompkins, Panter Hudspith, S333, Camlin Lonsdale, Buro Happold, Beyond Green, JMP, PMP, Vision XS and Nick Ritblat.
The team saw off strong competition from two other consortia – one led by Arup and including Fletcher Priest Architects, West 8, RPS, Leaside Regeneration and Dialogue; and the second featuring Urban Practitioners with Maxwan, URS Townsend and L+R Consulting.
Other rivals included Dutch firms Office for Metropolitan Architecture and Kees Christiaanse Architects, and London-based Witherford Watson Mann.
The winning team will now be expected to develop the masterplan for all the new homes, parkland, schools, health facilities, infrastructure and workspace in the Lower Lea Valley site.
Upon announcing the shortlist in October last year, LDA chief executive Manny Lewis described the scheme as 'a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to transform East London,' while adding that 'the quality of design is crucial to creating thriving and sustainable communities'.
