Ken Shuttleworth receives honorary doctorate

Make's Ken Shuttleworth was handed an honorary Doctor of Letters at the University of Westminster yesterday.
Shuttleworth, who is widely believed to be behind the distinctive design of the Gherkin, was given the award at the university's annual ceremony.
In 2003 Shuttleworth left Foster + Partners and established Make, which now boasts more than 100 staff and offices in London, Edinburgh and Birmingham.
The practice has won a number of high-profile projects in its first four years, including a large office scheme adjacent to Christopher Wren's Monument in the City of London.
Addressing Westminster's graduates, Shuttleworth said his success in architecture 'all comes down to passion'.
'If you haven't got passion,' he said, 'you're in the wrong business.'
Previous recipients of the award include Terry Farrell and Paul Finch.
