Zaha's Roca Gallery to host women in architecture debate

The Zaha Hadid Architects-designed Roca London Gallery in Chelsea Harbour is hosting a breakfast discussion to celebrate International Women’s Day on Thursday

The Gender Equality in Architecture debate starts at 9.30am and will be chaired by Sarah Ichioka, director of the Architecture Foundation.

The panel of speakers includes: Kathryn Firth, chief of design at the Olympic Park Legacy Company; AOC founding partner Daisy Froud; Joanna van Heyningen, partner at van Heyningen and Haward Architects; Pernilla + Asif founding partner Pernilla Ohrstedt and Elsie Owusu, partner at Feilden + Mawson.

At the start of this year, the AJ profiled more than 60 women architects and highlighted discrepancies between the roles of men and women in practice as part of a special Women in Architecture edition.

At the same time, the AJ Women in Architecture awards were launched to celebrate women in practice who have made outstanding contributions to the profession.
