Work starts on SHH’s 'water-slide' house

[First look + plans] Construction has begun on this 1,200m² private house in Highgate, London featuring a giant water slide designed by SHH

Due to complete in summer 2012, the partially-glazed and timber-clad Fitzroy Farm project includes a curling stainless steel water chute and indoor and outdoor swimming pool.

SHH chair David Spence described the project as ‘a spacious, contemporary family home of an exceptional architectural design quality, which will provide privacy, be in harmony with its surroundings and enhance the character of the Highgate Conservation Area.’

The scheme features a 8.5 metre-tall entrance hall with a wood and glass stair which raises through the building’s three levels.
