Video: Studio Weave practice profile

Studio Weave co-founders Maria Smith and Je Ahn talk about how they are trying to breakthrough and win larger public commissions

The up-and-coming practice is best known for its ‘The Longest Bench’ - their project in Littlehampton which was shortlisted for the Condé Nast Traveller’s Innovation & Design Award and which won the Civic Trust Award and Special Award for Community Impact and Engagement.

The studio also recently completed the Paleys upon Pilers - a 11m-high structure built from 17m3 of larch on the site previously allocated for Donis’s 60m-high giant goalposts, which won the Architecture Foundation’s New Aldgate contest in 2010.

Smith and Ahn take video magazine on a tour of one of their latest projects, St Pancras Church Garden, where they tell us about why writing stories forms part of their design process and what’s next for the young team.
