Tibbalds partners with Women in Architecture programme

The planning and urban design specialist joins AJ’s campaign for equality in architecture

Tibbalds has become latest practice to sign up to AJ’s Women in Architecture campaign.

The Southwark-based firm, set up ten years ago by four female architects, said that AJ’s campaign to raise the current status of women in the industry struck a chord with its female directors.

Director Jennifer Ross, said:  “We currently employ an equal number of women and men. Our key objective is to allow each individual to realise their potential and in so doing we have worked hard to create the sorts of working environments that allows that potential to flourish and grow regardless of gender.”

The firm also undertakes its own annual initiative, Pedelle, to encourage women in the industry to take part in more fundraising events.

Last year the event saw 23 women in architecture and property cycle from Tibbalds studio in London to Paris to raise money for children’s charity Coram.

This year the initiative will see women cycle from Milan to Venice on 5,6 and 7of June to coincide with the Venice Architecture Biennale.
