Sutherland Hussey wins go-ahead for seaside flats

Scottish Borders Council has approved plans by Sutherland Hussey Architects for two apartment villas in the village of Coldingham Bay to the south east of Edinburgh

Each building houses four flats and boasts private terraces and gardens ‘which overlook the stunning coastal inlet which is popular with surfers’.

The new buildings will replace a large, disused retirement home and, according to the Edinburgh-based practice, have been designed ‘to be more respectful of the scale of the surrounding houses’.

The scheme, which overcame several local objections (see attached document), is due on site in late 2014.
