Squire and Partners submits mixed-use Piccadilly scheme

Squire and Partners has submitted a planning application for this project to build four new buildings close to Green Park in Westminster, west London

The proposal features offices, an affordable housing block and a ten-storey residential building. The Portland Stone structures overlook Green Park with ground floor retail units providing street frontage onto Piccadilly.

A ‘mews street’ linking the residential and office buildings to a landscaped public courtyard will also be built.

According to the practice the detailing of the metalwork on the windows, balconies, balustrades and screens ‘reflects the characteristics of the “Piccadil” lace collar [after which the street is named]’.

Existing ‘poor quality and disjointed’ 1960s office buildings will be replaced, said the architect.
