Sauerbruch Hutton’s Munich museum opens in a burst of colour

Berlin-based practice Sauerbruch Hutton’s £43 million Museum Brandhorst in Munich, Germany, opens to the public this week

The building has a polychromatic facade inspired by the museum’s colourful collection of modern and contemporary art. The external skin comprises 36,000 vertical ceramic louvres, glazed in 21 different colours, which wrap around the building.
