Satellite Architects wins Hammersmith Quaker contest

The Hammersmith Friends (Quakers) have chosen Satellite Architects from more than 125 entrants to design their new meeting house

Working in collaboration with construction consultants Jackson Coles and Elliott Wood, the practice saw off an impressive shortlist which included Barbara Weiss Architects, Gianni Botsford Architects, Makespace Architects and Studio E Architects.

The project for a ‘new sustainable landmark building for worship’ is funded by King Street Developments, a joint venture project between Helical Bar and Grainger as part of plans to redevelop the area around Hammersmith Town Hall.

Plans are expected to be submitted to the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham by the end of 2010.
