RMJM plays down Fred 'The Shred' departure rumours
RMJM has refuted claims that ‘disgraced’ former-banker Fred Goodwin has stepped down from his advisory role at the practice
Just one year after Goodwin’s appointment to the post at the top ten-ranked AJ100 practice, The Scotsman today (6 January) reported that the desk of the ‘international business adviser’ in the company’s Edinburgh office has been empty for several weeks.
One senior staff member also confessed to the AJ that the former Royal Bank of Scotland boss had ceased to work for the practice, adding that Goodwin had told RMJM’s company bosses ‘things they didn’t want to hear’.
However a RMJM spokesperson denied the ex-banker had left but admitted Goodwin was working for the company less in the current climate.
They said: ‘[Goodwin] remains an adviser to the business and we call on his services as required. This encompasses periods when increased input is helpful and others when we require to call on his services less, as is currently the case.’
Hired as a financial and overseas business opportunities adviser, it had previously been claimed in numerous papers that Goodwin had been linked to discord at the practice, resulting in several top directors leaving to set up a new studio.
