RIBA photo library could be renamed after Elwall

The RIBA photography collection could be renamed in honour of late British Architectural Library curator and assistant director Robert Elwall

RIBA honorary librarian Paul Davis said: ‘Elwall transformed [the photo library] into the greatest architectural photography collection in the world. [Naming it after him] would be an appropriate way of remembering him.’

An RIBA photography contest in his memory is planned to launch within weeks. Elwall, who had pancreatic cancer, passed away on Wednesday, 7 March 2012.
