RIBA opens £5,000 scholarship for Part 2 students

The RIBA and Wren Insurance have launched a £25,000 annual scholarship programme

Up to five RIBA Wren Insurance Association Scholarships will be given to Part 2 students of RIBA-validated UK architecture schools over the next five years.

Successful students will receive £5,000 each to support their final year of study. The first awards will be given during the 2013/14 academic session.

Made possible by a £125,000 donation from Wren, the programme will dish out £25,000 each year to promising Part IIs.

RIBA president Angela Brady said: ‘The RIBA is committed to supporting students and helping them fulfil their ambition to become architects. These scholarships will provide five talented students with the support needed at a crucial stage of their professional education.’

Wren chair Richard Pullen said: ‘Having enjoyed 25 successful years the Wren has decided to mark its quarter century by making available a scholarship fund to Part II students over the next five years at a time when the cost of qualification can be overwhelming and the opportunity of being mentored by some of the world’s leading architectural firms is particularly welcome.’
