OMA unwraps seven-screen pavilion in Cannes

[First look + plans] OMA has created this raised pyramid structure containing a seven-screen cinema at the Cannes Film Festival

The unique Palm Beach venue was inaugurated this week with a viewing of  Kanye West’s short film Cruel Summer.

The seven-screen viewing concept was invented by West’s creative team, Donda.

OMA partner Shohei Shigematsu said: ‘The pyramid subtly distinguishes itself from the context of white event sheds in Cannes while achieving a structure able to suspend the complex screen, sound and projection installations.

‘We are excited to be involved in developing this prototype for a new cinematic experience, together with other creative entities.’

The 200-seat pyramid structure was designed out of OMA’s New York office.
