[FIRST LOOK + PROJECT DATA] Nick Willson Architects has won planning permission for this four-bedroom private house in Tunbridge, Kent

The three-storey 300m² home, named Bothy Lodge, is set on a sloping site in a conservation area.

The south facing structure has green roofs, a kitchen garden, rain water recycling, a mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery, solar thermal collectors and insulation.

Sandstone cladding is used on the ground floor and the upper floor is clad with thin cedar panels. The lower ground floor is partially buried in the slope of the site, taking advantage of thermal mass heating.
