NBBJ cancer centre gets green light

Middlesbrough Council has granted planning consent for the development of NBBJ’s new oncology centre at the James Cook University Hospital

The London studio of the practice is lead designer on the project, which will provide heavy diagnostic and radiation treatment services in a freestanding Satellite Centre.

NBBJ said it was influenced by the level of care achieved at Maggie’s Centres.

Construction is expected to start this month, with completion in summer 2011.
