Mueller Kneer lands new White Cube gallery

Mueller Kneer Associates has won the commission to design a new outpost for the White Cube gallery in a former warehouse in south London

The AJ Corus 40 Under 40 practice, founded in 1997 by AA graduates Marianne Mueller and Olaf Kneer, is working on the ‘major new art venue’ in Bermondsey Street, Southwark, with German architect Jens Casper.

It is understood the plans for the warehouse, once used by Recall, include a ‘large piazza entrance’, two galleries, storage space and an auditorium.

White Cube has previously worked with MRJ Rundell and Associates on its bases in Hoxton Square (pictured) and Mason’s Yard, off Duke Street, St James’s.

Mueller Kneer and Jens Casper have set up a company, Casper Mueller Kneer, especially to deliver the project.
