More practices join burgeoning B3 stable

Booming Cardiff-based practice B3 Architects has added yet another design studio to its growing fold after merging with Glasgow’s G5 Architecture & Design

The news comes just months after the company snaffled up Aberystwyth’s James Jenkins Thomas (1 July) and gives B3 its first outpost in Scotland.

The 60-strong practice now has seven regional offices in Cardiff, Aberystwyth, Newtown, Loughborough, Bradford, Newcastle upon Tyne and Glasgow. A spokesman for B3 told the AJ it plans to ‘increase technical staff as workload increases’.

Last year the company bought up sports and leisure specialists GLR Architects of Bradford (AJ 03.03.2010) having snapped another sports-focused practice Gibson Hamilton in 2007.

Bob Ramage, a director of G5 Architecture and Design said: ‘The merger means we can offer our clients a greater service than either practice could do individually.

‘This is best achieved when practices who share a vision of collaborative working come together to deliver innovative approaches to delivering best value for clients on projects of all sizes and complexities.’

The company’s ‘new’ Glasgow office will now be known as B3:G5.
