MJP's Jersey home starts on site

[First look + plans] Work has started on this house in St John, Jersey, designed by MJP Architects

The scheme, located on a rocky promontory overlooking the sea, features a double-height hallway at its centre and small tower-top bedroom in the style of a maritime landmark.

A MJP statement explained: ‘This extraordinary site, wild and windswept, falls precipitously towards the rocky coastline. The house at Wolfs’ Caves invites a particular kind of architectural response.

‘The new house is located at the very edge of an escarpment defined by a reflective pool, beyond which only the sea and sky are visible.’

The five-bedroom house features a guest house, suana and gym.
