Miller Partnership’s Aberdeen FC scheme goes for planning

The Miller Partnership has submitted plans to build a new 21,000-seater stadium for Aberdeen Football Club (FC) at Loirston Loch, Scotland

The proposed arena features horizontal bands of colour and will glow red at night, creating a recognizable spectacle in the area.

Duncan Fraser, Aberdeen FC chief executive, said: ‘After much hard work and consultation, we are delighted to submit a planning application for a stadium that will inspire our fans and the wider community and be a major new attraction for Aberdeen city and shire.

‘Loirston Loch was identified as the optimum site for this major regional facility and our goal is to deliver a stadium that will make our supporters proud.

‘The exciting design will create a modern, atmospheric stadium that offers the ultimate match-day experience and signifies the clear ambitions of the club.’

The stadium is designed to accommodate national sporting events and large concerts, featuring an increased pitch size and steeply inclined seating.

A club shop, ticket office, museum and cafe will be incorporated into the entrance corner while the arena itself will host 26 high-level hospitality boxes, several hospitality suites and a supporter’s bar over-looking the fans walkway.
