McGarry-Moon unveils 'agricultural' home plans

McGarry-Moon Architects has submitted plans for this £350,000 home in rural Maghera, Northern Ireland

The 350m2 Gorse House features a three-storey ‘barn element’ connected to a lower living unit with a wave-like roof (pictured).

Steven Moon, co-founder of the Northern Irish practice said: ‘The house is set out on a grid similar to its agricultural neighours with four bays of 6m x 6m.

‘The barn element houses six bedrooms with…. the lower curved element housing the living accomodation.

‘The roof is to be rheinzink. Windows and doors are hardwood stained black.’

The cedar-clad building is due to complete in mid 2011.
