Mayor publishes reworked London Plan

London mayor Boris Johnson has published a revised edition of the London Plan which aims to shape the capital’s spatial development strategy for the next 20 years

The plan covers issues including housing, transport, economic development and climate change and includes a strategy for securing regeneration benefits from the Olympic Games.

Johnson said: ‘It is absolutely vital to the UK economy that we maintain and grow London’s status as the world’s leading business centre and ensure it is one of the best cities to live and work in.

‘These objectives are fundamentally linked and we will not achieve one without the other. My new London Plan gives us a clear, concise vision of how we can make this happen.’

Johnson also launched consultation on a revised view management framework, which places restrictions on the development of tall buildings in the capital. The consultation runs until 28 October.
