Maurice Shapero draws up university 'incubator' workshops

Manchester-based Maurice Shapero has revealed concept plans for a £1.6million incubator office scheme for a university in south east England

The scheme is being backed by Peter Buglass of Custard Pie Properties - the same developer behind Shapero’s award-winning 42nd Street headquarters building in Manchester and the designer’s contentious cruciform King Eddy skyscraper scheme in Liverpool (see AJ 23.10.12)

Aimed at start-up businesses linked to the University, the 1,764m² project will house small 40m² workshops and offices as well as communal space a reception and a coffee shop.

Shapero has also been asked by Buglass to look as a wider masterplan for the site.
