Manchester City Council has announced the latest competition for its Town Hall Complex Transformation project – the redesign of St Peter’s Square and Library Walk

The four-year program includes Ian Simpson’s refurbishment of the Grade II*-listed extension to Manchester town hall and Ryder Architects restoration and revamp of the Central Library, also Grade II* listed.
The competition aims to ‘create a breathtaking, internationally-recognised new landmark public space for the city’. The cenotaph and Metrolink stops will be retained in their current positions in St Peter’s Square.
The Council will hold a supplier’s briefing on 3.02.10 at 10am in the Great Hall, Town Hall, Manchester City Council, Manchester UK.
