Major contest launched for Greek museum
A major competition has been launched to find an architect for a museum and public spaces at Athens’ largest port
The Piraeus Port Authority is holding the design contest for the Greece Museum of Underwater Antiquities.
To be housed in an iconic industrial building on the harbour, the museum will display items from Greece’s maritime history.
Innovative spaces and cultural facilities are also to be designed for the waterfront around the museum.
The jury will give a weighting of 60 per cent to the museum designs and 40 per cent to the surrounding area plans.
Questions must be submitted by 14 May, with final deadline for entrants 6 August.
