Maggie's Centre by Kisho Kurokawa and Garbers & James opens in Wales
The new Maggie’s Centre in Swansea, designed by the late Kisho Kurokawa in 2007 and completed by Garbers & James, will officially open next week
The £3million cancer care centre scheme in the grounds of Singleton Hospital was conceived as a concrete spiral revolving around a central kitchen.
Maggie’s South West Wales is the third centre to be opened by the charity in recent months, having recently completed its Gartnavel Hospital scheme in Glasgow by OMA and its ‘provocative’ new project at Nottingham City Hospital designed by CZWG and fitted out Paul Smith.
Former Welsh international footballer John Hartson, who battled testicular cancer, will open the centre on Friday 9 December.
