London loves

Astragal schmoozed with Thomas Heatherwick and Tony Fretton at the opening of David Chipperfield’s new exhibition at the Design Museum last week.

Chipperfield brought a serious note to the festivities by expressing his disappointment at the miserable state of the UK planning system before eliciting a few laughs by admitting that he couldn’t really complain as business was pretty good elsewhere.

Despite Chipperfield’s assertions that he was better known outside the UK than in it, he demonstrated that he was a London boy at heart by closing his speech with ‘ich bin ein londoner’.
