Letts Wheeler wins Maidstone re-design

Letts Wheeler Architects has beaten four other shortlisted firms to win the Maidstone High Street re-design competition

The firms were selected from 76 entrants into Maidstone Borough Council’s (MBC) £4 million public realm improvement project, to transform the High Street and enhance Maidstone as Kent’s county town.

Also on the shortlist of the RIBA-organised competition were Conran & Partners, Douglas and King Architects, Terence O’Rourke and Townshend Landscape Architects.

The judging panel consisted of elected and executive members of MBC and Kent County Council together with RIBA advisor Robert Sakula of Ash Sakula Architects.
