In pictures: Popularchitecture’s West London terrace

Popularchitecture’s ‘New Terrace’ in West London has been approved by planners and will be built later this year

The six-house terrace, commissioned by Lanchester Developments, sits between a traditional Victorian terrace and a row of Garden Suburb-inspired detached houses.

Popularchitecture says its design ‘plays with the terrace typology’ as it can be read as individual houses or a terrace. The first storey is clad in reclaimed flooring from a local community dancehall and the terrace features a ‘dynamic’ and ‘visually light’ cantilevered roof that shades the upper balcony.

Inside, the three-bed houses have open-plan basement and ground-floor spaces allowing a variety of uses.

Construction of the scheme is expected to begin in July.
