In pictures: Haworth Tompkins wins AJ Small Project Award
The winners of the AJ Small Projects Award have been announced with top prize going to Haworth Tompkins for Dovecote Studio
Paddy Dillon, Andrew Rowson and Tom Wilson last night (26 February) accepted the prestigious award and cash prize of £1,250 for the innovative music studio at Snape Maltings in Suffolk.
The Highly Commended second place award was given to Burd Haward for its Outdoor Classroom at Heronsgate Primary School in London. Catherine Burd and Buddy Haward accepted the cash prize of £750.
Also Commended was Studio Octopi’s Park Avenue South kitchen extension in London. Chris Romer-Lee and James Lowe were awarded £500.
Honourable mentions were also given to OMI Architects’ Bridge of Discovery, We Made That’s A Hut for Gazing & Canoodling, Out of Sight roof extension by Spaced Out Architecture Studio and Carmody Groarke’s Project Space for the Architecture Foundation in London.
The competition was judged by CABE chair Paul Finch, chartered surveyor John Boxall of Jackson Coles, architect Ulf Allers of Fielden + Mawson and Richard Rhodes, design and development director at InterfaceFLOR.
