In pictures: Concrete progress on Allies and Morrison’s Olympics press centre

The concrete structure of Allies and Morrison’s Main Press Centre (MPC) on the Olympic park in East London has been completed

The building, which will cater for 5,600 journalists and sits alongside the International Broadcast Centre (IBC), has also had windows put in on three sides and is on schedule to finish by summer 2011.

ODA chairman John Armitt said: ‘This is the first time press and broadcasters will be based in the same area and marks a significant effort to make the best use of space within the Olympic Park.’

The MPC has a floor area of 29,000m² and is designed to be converted into business units after the Games.
