Ice work: Eiffel tower built in Harrogate park

A church and the Eiffel Tower are among the latest snow-sculptures created by British architects

Earlier in the week Astragal featured an snowy Easter Island statue by NVB Architects. An appeal for more work led to a wonderful church (complete with minature worshippers) from Allistair Burt of Scottish design duo Hole in my Pocket and an eight-foot tall Eiffel Tower from Merrell O’Flaherty Architects in Harrogate. Please keep them coming!

UPDATE: Adam Park of BDP has made a polar bear. He says: ‘Me and my flat mate Vladimir (both part 2 students at BDP) had far too much time and snow on our hands in Sheffield. Our snow bear gained local celebrity status in the area and has already made the local press.’

UPDATE: Paul Brooke of BDP has made Wallace and Grommit. He says: ‘A snowy day last Tuesday made it impossible to get to work so my family made a cracking snowman.’

UPDATE:: Linda Roberts and Joanne Wallis of the RIBA Competition office Leeds sent in this snow sculpture. Competition officer Roberts says: ‘It’s superb isn’t it!’ After some discussion, the AJ consensus is that it’s an owl.
