This cartoon is from the AJ for 23.06.05 when New Labour’s £2 billion Pathfinder scheme was launched. This unsustainable insanity involved the demolition of hundreds of Victorian terrace houses in Liverpool and their replacement by the private sector. By 2007 the scheme was failing and despite the new coalition government’s pledge to replace demolition with rehabilitation it still seems to be going on
