Hair-raising criticism from Jonathan Meades

The first episode of Jonathan Meades: Off Kilter offered some choice cuts of criticism on forthcoming developments in Aberdeenshire

Writer and critic Meades used last week’s BBC Four show to describe Halliday Fraser Munro’s park and shopping mall as a ‘grandiloquent void, which is entirely contrary to the nature of the Aberdonian cityscape’, and Gareth Hoskins’ golf resort for Donald Trump as likely to feature ‘a world-class, full-size, pro-celebrity comb-over court’ with ‘world-class security apes’.

Meades will be writing about Scottish architecture for the AJ later in the year.
