Gordon Murray submits plans to redevelop Glasgow cinema

[First look + project data] Gordon Murray Architects submitted an application for a 15,000m2 office scheme on the site of a former Odeon in Glasgow

Planned to start on site next summer, the 10-storey city centrescheme features polished cast Portland stone cladding and 1,500m² floor plates.

A statement from the practice explained: ’ The richness of the building is defined by its simplicity and layering.

‘The building [provides] a transition from the proportions and Portland stone panels of neighbouring James Miller House to the 1930’s detailing of the Art Deco Odeon building.’
