GHM Rock Townsend's Marylebone campus revamp nearing completion

[First look + plans] University of Westminster’s Marylebone campus redevelopment is set to open in September

The London-headquartered practice created a masterplan to redesign the campus, which is home to the university’s school of architecture and the built environment.

The scheme, due to be completed in September, is centred on a 1,200m² flexible and integrated social learning building, which provides a range of learning and social spaces.

This links to facilities including a new lecture theatre; seminar and tutorial spaces; a library; dining and refreshment facilities; and exhibition and administration spaces.

Other improvements include upgrading of existing thermal fabric; provision of a new combined heat and power boiler; upgrades to existing boilers; and the introduction of rainwater harvesting, energy efficient lighting and controls.

A major upgrade has also been carried out across the remaining campus; an area totaling 10,660m².
