Foster unveils Lebanon towers

[First look + project data] Foster + Partners has broken ground on this 100,000m² residential-led mixed-use scheme in Beirut, Lebanon

Featuring three skyscrapers, the 3Beirut project is the practice’s first project in the country and is being built as part of a masterplan by local urban regeneration company Solidere.

The design comprises 149 apartments alongside 5,500m² of retail and new public realm. The scheme’s tallest tower is 120 metres high.

The podium level and surrounding external spaces will provide a cluster of shops, cafes, restaurants, a gymnasium, an art gallery and public gardens.

3Beirut will be the city’s first towers with green roofs and the interiors will feature a passive environmental strategy to maximise natural light and ventilation.

Luke Fox, Foster + Partners senior partner and design director, said: ‘I am delighted that our first project in Lebanon is under construction.

‘3Beirut will be a significant addition to the city and I look forward to it contributing to the emerging success of Beirut as an international destination.’
