Five things to do today: 21 September

Waste not want not - Simon’s Cat - Do Doodle! - Starck raving mad - Watering Can fan

Waste not want not
Do as architect Ian Douglas-Jones and designer Ben Rousseau do and recycle your waste. They’ve gone and made a new design exhibition out of it at the V&A as part of the London Design Festival. Think what you could do with your rubbish!

Simon’s Cat
Let this little critter cheer you up on a Monday morning. Check out what Simon’s cheeky cat has been up to and enter the competition with your best photo.

Do Doodle!
All good ideas have to start somewhere. Check out these hundreds of scribbles and doodles and you’ll never look at a Biro in the same way again…

Starck raving mad
Why not try redesigning a classic product? Nine designers have done it with Philippe Starck’s ‘Louis Ghost’ chair. Go and see the results at the ‘Losing the Plot’ exhibition, part of this week’s Design Festival.

Watering Can fan
If you need to water the plants but don’t want to waste water from the tap, why not invest in ‘A Drop of Water’. These ingenious rain collectors are eco-friendly, good with the British climate and nice to look at. Get gardening!
