First peek at David Adjaye's new Moscow School of Management

Work is nearing completion on Adjaye Associates new Moscow School of Management in Skolkovo

Adjaye was commissioned to design a building that would represent the school’s ‘independent’ teaching methodologies and features a central disc where suites of teaching spaces, a congress centre, and support facilities form ‘an internal cityscape bounded by a circular enclosure’.

According to the practice, ‘this arrangement is intended to suggest openness, cohesion and an absence of hierarchy’.

The new school was launched earlier this month (September 2009).

  • it amazes me how long its taken everyone to accept and copy Will Alsops ideas....

I remember working on schemes just like this in 1988 like BIG BEAM in Hamburg.
