First look: HOK's Moscow hotel

HOK has released images of a new Mandarin Oriental hotel in Moscow, Russia

The 250-room hotel is housed in a redeveloped historic building, constructed in the early 19th century as a private manor house on a central site. The building will retain two of the historic facades along with listed rooms on the ground and first floors.

Incorporating 6,500 square metres of retail space, two elegant ballrooms, health spa and wellness centre, indoor swimming pool, fitness centre and a number of restaurants and bars.

Following completion of the concept design, HOK will shortly begin work on the project schematics and construction is expected onsite at the end of 2009, and the hotel will be officially open to the public in 2011.
