First look: Halliday Clark Ecopods
Bradford-based Halliday Clark Architects has just completed two new Ecopods, made from recycled shipping containers
The pair of £100,000 pods, used as classrooms during the day and community facilities in the evening, have been installed at Bradford’s Carlton Bolling College and at Laisterdyke Business and Enterprise Centre (pictured here). Taking just four weeks to build, each pod is manufactured off-site and produces its own electricity through photovoltaic panels mounted on skylights.
The pods boast three different kinds of insulation: yaks’ wool, recycled newspaper and hemp.
